"this movie could not be played"

I purchased two tv show episodes from iTunes while on my desktop PC, that downloaded succesfully on that machine. The next day I synced my iPad (first generation) and iPod. The shows play fine on my iPod, but when I tried to launch the tv shows on my iPad, I received the following message: "this movie could not be played". What do i need to do? thx

Delete and re-sync it. If the problem remains, you may use itunes homesharing via wi-fi to directly watch it on you iPad(if you got iOS 4.3).
