Traffic app

I have an external GPS for my car but I can't add traffic reports to it. Can anyone suggest a good app for traffic updates that I can add to my IPad 2 wifi or my Iphone 4s. I will be travelling from Florida to the Northeast. Thanks

Have a look at the free app Waze (link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/waze-social-gps-maps-traffic/id323229106?mt=8)

I don't know how good it is, but I used it for a trip to North Carolina [state] and back [to New York state]. Seemed to keep up with traffic conditions pretty well.
