Transfer RAW files from SD Card to portable hard drive

Hi,

I'm planning a fairly long trip through Australia and South-East Asia next year and as a keen amateur photographer I'll be carrying my Canon 60D plus a number of lenses.

Can anybody tell me if it's possible to use my iPad2 to transfer the .CR2 files produced by the camera/SD card to a portable hard drive? Not having to carry a laptop around would offer massive weight savings!
