I transferred files for my i pad to the itunes from laptop but I cannot get files to transferr to the pad. I even downloaded iflash. Still no go. I have followed the directions but when I click on my ipad under device nothing comes up under it like apps. Only apps I see are actually 1 I loaded on laptop. Any suggestions? thanks,

Dropbox is the best way to transfer files back and forth between you iPad and computer. Just go to dropbox.com on your computer to set it up and then find the Dropbox app in the Apps on your iPad. It is wonderful and it's free! Good luck!

Seconded. Dropbox is awesome and so easy. Additionally there's another app I love called iFiles in the app store that is great for local caching of those files from the Dropbox app. It's possible to cache in Dropbox but iFiles has a lot more features and a better UI. So for example you'd set up Dropbox, upload a few pictures, docs, podcasts, etc. Then open the Dropbox app on the iPad, then hit the arrow and click on "Open in iFiles" and there you can store them in a nice interface with audio controls, etc. You don't have to use it but I find it really great for managing a lot of files. GoodReader is another app that can import things like long PDFs from the Dropbox app, since it's designed as an ereader and thus provides a much better reading experience than you'd get from just opening a PDF in the Dropbox app and trying to read it. Etc... 

I'm also a little confused as to what and how you're trying to transfer. You can't just transfer floating files by mounting it like another drive. If you want to transfer photos you need to create an album on the pc, then select "sync photos" and check that album. Etc. Not all file formats will work on the iPad either. More details would clarify your situation. However, you're almost certainly better off trying to upload most things to cloud services like Dropbox, GoogleDocs, etc and then download into apps that can manage those files.

Halo.. Regarding this case. I also have trouble when i want to transfer all my document from laptop to ipad. Even i have the ifile ,still cant use. I've told by my friend if we want to transfer the file from laptop to ipad it just easy as move to usb but have to use the connector (vga adapter ) is that true?
I need to know since i really need to move all my work document so i can easily doing presentation and report from my ipad ;)
Thanks all

This is actually an extremely complex question. You can't just transfer all files to your iPad. Also many file types are not compatible. In many cases you may need to purchase apps or sign up for services that will allow you to work with or edit those files. Honestly I think you are better off doing google searches for how to transfer or use files from each type of program on the iPad. It is nothing like a Windows laptop.

I noted in your other post that you have Office2 HD. Here's how you can transfer your presentation or other files to apps like Office2 HD, 2Screens, Pages, Keynote, etc.:

When you have your iPad connected to your computer you can easily add files to the app using iTunes.

Click on your iPad under "Devices" in the left-hand menu in iTunes. Click on "Apps" at the top of the screen (between "Info" and "Music"). Scroll down to the "File Sharing" area. Listed under "Apps" are all of the programs that can share files...files you can add on the iPad or move from the iPad to your computer. Just drag and drop your presentation or other files into the right-hand document area. You can also use the "Add" button at the bottom.

With regard to transferring files via a USB thumb drive using the iPad's USB Connection Kit, no that's not possible at this time. There are other methods (and apps), both wired and wireless that allow files to be transferred, but I think for your purposes doing what I described above should work fine.

Hope that helps!

No Yahoo (or I'd be there all day. :) ) The illustration is how all apps that can share files works, so I don't know what to tell you. If you can post exactly what you're experiencing we'll try to get things sorted.

There are actual apps that will allow you to move files between your computer and your iPad. One that I use fairly frequently is called Air Sharing HD. If you have WiFi on your computer it allows you to transfer files back and forth without connecting directly to your computer. Another I use is called USB Disk. It allows file transfers while the iPad is connected to your computer with the normal 30 Pin/USB cable.

Hope that helps and don't hesitate to post your situation. If you're experiencing trouble, no doubt others are too and they may find what you have to say helpful.

Cheers,
