Trashy trash mail

Using my ipad I delete email, then go to the trash and read it again if I want
UNLESS the sender used an ipad too. ALL mail I delete goes to the trash and immediately says

"This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program. text/plain"

What do I have to do to read mail I trash from an ipad sender???

I think all you have to do is move it back to the inbox.

Nope.....that doesn't work
