Trouble with game

My EA Sports Tiger Woods golf game has developed a glitch. The video graphics have become herky-jerky and the whole game stops and starts when you swing the club. Is this my iPad the game software or what....ideas?

1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
