9to5 Mac features a new gadget from Epson, the MegaPlex MG-850HD, which is a 2800 lumen 720P projector complete with built-in 10-watt stereo speakers and a 30-pin iOS dock to enable you to connect your iPad, iPod touch or iPhone. The MegaPlex weighs less than eight pounds and even comes with a handle to make it truly portable. In its review of the MegaPlex, 9to5 Mac says that it starts up as soon as you plug in your iOS device, and takes mere seconds to set up so that you can start watching your iTunes, Hulu or Netflix videos immediately, projected onto a suitable surface. An added benefit is that it can also be used as a charging speaker dock for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch when not being used as a projector. At $612 from Amazon and $620 from Buy.com it’s far from cheap, but as 9to5 Mac points out, its actually very reasonably priced for a portable 720P 2800 Lumen projector.
