Ubongo is the latest in the very long line of popular board games that have made the transition to the iPad. The gameplay is very simple and involves solving as many Tetris-style puzzles as you can and getting gems of the same colour. Featured game modes include History mode, where you get to take on the role of Kanu in a bid to defeat the followers of evil Rifictus, which sounds a lot more grand than Tetris ever got, to be frank, and Time Attack, which is against the clock of course, and where you have to get as high a number of gems as you can within the time limit. There’s also a multiplayer mode where you can challenge your friends (up to four) on the same iPad. It’s already sold over 1 million copies for the various versions of the game around the world, as well a hat load of awards, such as Game of the Year in Norway and Finland, and the Best Family Game in Sweden. Looks like a really simple, fun game, even if you’re not already a fan of the board game.
