Ultimate Guitar and Original Music

I don't know how many of you are musicians (or wannabe musicians), but I really love the Ultimate Guitar app. It shows both tabs and and chord music (and sometimes multiple versions of both) and it scrolls down the piece as you play (or whatever you may call what you do).

What I want to know is how I can make my own work scroll like that? I have a terrible memory (especially in front of a crowd) and I can't remember diddly, so any ideas for such a process would be greatly appreciated.
