Unable to find my iphone personal hotspot on ipad

Hi

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place so apologies!

I have enable my personal hotspot on my iphone 4s and know it works as have used it before on my laptop. I have a new iPad which just has wifi. I want to tether to my iphone, but it never appears in the list of wifi connections or bluetooth devices.

Any ideas?

Is your iPhone visible? Not creating a hidden SSID? Disconnect the laptop to figure this out.
