Unable to send email

Using gmail, on an IPad 4s, when I try to send an email, I get a message, "Unable to send email."
"A copy has been placed in your outbox. The recipient (here they put my email address) was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying. "

What's curious is that I followed normal procedures to send an email.

I re-booted, but still have the same problem.

What to do????

The first thing you can try doing is removing and reloading your email account in the mail app, if you are using the native mail app, or reinstalling the gmail app, if you use that.
