Universal Remote Control Apps

Having done a count of the remotes in the house (4 in the bedroom, 3 living room) I was wondering if anyone has tried any of these Universal Remote apps?

It would be nice to have a "One Shot" soloution, but I have bought the physical ones before, and invariably they refuse to work with at least one device.

Main TV is also Network connected, so is Blu-Ray DTS, an older PVR which I have upgraded a couple of times sits at the end of the food chain there.

Anyone tried?

yeah, this would be cool

you could search in the app store 're universal remote control'. but you'll need to also purchase the IR dongle, as all home appliances that use remotes' operate this way, and the ipad doesnt.

Hmmm... I may have enough cables for now what with the Irig, and guitar cables, HDMI one to come, maybe I can live with the remotes
