update ios from download?

Hi guys

I've just downloaded the latest ios update in itunes for my ipad.

how to i update the software from the download? i usually just click on update, but this downloads and updates all together. i dont want this, i just want to update from a previous download

strange, I've also downloaded the update, but not updated yet, but when I connect the iPad to my pc, I get the options to update or restore

maybe close iTunes and disconnect, then open iTunes and reconnect?

could be that the download was interrupted?
