With the ipads long battery life, is it capable to reverse the charging order and use a apple cord to usb mini to charge say a phone or a wireless hotspot?

No - this would not be practical. The iPad's USB port is limited to 10 mA against a 'normal' PC's USB port's capacity of 300 mA, so any charging effect would be minimal at best.

I doubt it. the iPad's long battery life is most likely due to the iPad's low power consumption, not an extra powerful battery. Most oher devices would consume more power than the iPad battery can deliver.

I registered to the site just to give an answer to this comment.

Bloddy please, why do you make comments WITHOUT knowledge? Ipad has 12000mah Power, which is A LOT! And wouldnt it be VERY wrong that apple can manage ipad to consume very little power, but cannot do so for the iphone?

Come oon!
