So I just bought a new Ipad and love it so far. Now I wanted to do some work with it and talked to the Apple store and of course the person I spoke with was 100% sure that the .docx file I have on my PC which contains some text boxes and pull down boxes would convert over to Pages just fine.

So I purchased Pages and imported my form over and it doesn't work. The only thing that shows up in the text boxes is the work "enter text" and the pull down boxes contains just the first entry and you can't click on it to see the other options.

Am I missing something here or did I purchase something that won't work for me? Is there something else out there that might work? I've looked at Google Docs and it doesn't seem to handle the text boxes or pull down either.

Seems pretty basic, but maybe I'm missing something, Also most of the entry into the forms are done offline, so building something on the web isn't an option.

Thanks
greg

People often wonder about this but remember anyone can view but only registered Forum members can post.

Pages is a very much stripped down version of the desktop program. It struggles with some formatting (a polite way of saying it can't cope). It's good for originating content but downloading a Word document from a PC or Mac is very much a hit-and-miss affair. I tried a similarly formatted document to the one you described and confirm that, unfortunately, it won't handle it.

Sorry to break the bad news.
