Heard a few months back that there was some problem with the ipad 3 in Australia. Can anyone advise if I buy one in Britain will it work properly in Australia? Is wifi only one ok? Thanks
As far as I'm aware, the issue was with the advertised 4G , but OZ hasn't upgraded to 4G, the iPad will work anywhere in the world, it's the sim cards that are area specific to service providers.
The issue is the 4g networks in Australia are on a different frequency to other parts of the world. The new iPad works fine on all networks using prepaid sims. The new iPad with automatically adjust to 3G so it is a non issue and further more will have faster access than iPad 2 3G due to the design. If you have a wifi only iPad you can purchase a portable compact wifi 4g modem from Telstra that works great. This comes loaded with 3 months and about 6 gb data. and will support 5 devices like kindle iPad iPhone printer etc at same time so a perfect solution for someone visiting. Cost is about $130. and can be recharged any where
