Had an old card on my itunes account that has expired.

Bought Itunes card and redeemed it, so have £20 credit.

Yet when I try to buy an app, it wants credit card details.

Am I forced into this, even though I want to use itunes credit?

I wouldn't think you would have to input credit card details if you have redeemed a gift card of the proper denomination (enough value to purchase the app), as I don't have credit card details in my iTunes and I can download paid apps with a gift card.

Well it is forcing me to update my card but i dont want to as its for my daughter and i just want to use voucher

Try contacting iTunes support.

Normally if you want an account without a credit card you set it up that way to begin with. I don't know how to remove the card info (which is probably what needs to be done), but I'm hoping that the iTunes Store staff will be able to do so, or at least let you know what your options are.
