Videos on iPad

I have noticed that videos that I can view on my computer won't play on my iPad. Is there an app or something so that I can view videos (not commercial videos) on my iPad?

Try an app like nPlayer. This will play most formats your PC will play.

VLC is free and plays just about anything.
