Waiting for reboot problem

I did not find solution for that. By trying different stuff it started to work, and describind what I did was my only purpose to register on this forum (maybe someone will be interested, if it is somewhere solved, admins will delete this post)

IPAD 1, 32 GB WiFi + Toshiba Satellite 5105 Win XP (from around year 2002)

Problem: Jailbreaking stops on "waiting for reboot".
Solution: before experimenting, I tried suggested shaking, USB changing, even rebooting ipad with redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc9 running - nothing.
Helped one of those:

- Turned off antivir (MS Security Essentials)
- running redsn0w as administrator (though me as user have administrative rights)
- Tried to use all of the available USB ports, one of them worked

So in the end it jailbroken device. Now I have to think what to do with it that I could not do with not jailbroken ;)

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

You'll find a section of the Forum devoted to jail breaking iPads and what to do with them once you've jail broken. Thanks for your insight. One of our moderators, Leigh, is a 20 year veteran of this, so he'll have plenty of ideas to help you enjoy your new found freedom.

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

Great to hear you got there in the end Belcik, and thanks for posting your results to help others in the same boat.
I've updated the Jailbreaking Methods sticky, linked in my sig, with a reminder about anti-virus tools based on your feedback.
If you have any more questions or run into problems please do come back and search the forum and post us a thread if you don't find the answer you are looking for... Happy hacking! :ipad-front:

I would add there (or made it more precise):
- running as administrator (this is not the same as with administrative privileges)
- trying other usb ports

combination of these two plus AntiVirus did the work for me. I did not make notes in which order I was doing this, so maybe if someone has similiar problem by trying can define where exactly is solution.

At the moment I am trying to find "what I can do with SSH connection to IPad" - any good sources?
