Webpage security

Hi all
Windows pc user for many years - now bought my first iPad (2).
Logging in to various bank sites - concerned to find that the usual indication of a secure site is not appearing on the ipad - ie http with s added plus padlock sign.
Now just getting the word "online" or "secure 2" prefixed to webpage address.
Is this normal & am I being overly concerned?
