Webservice with IPAD

Hi,

can anybody of you help me? I will develop an Application for Business User who can connect to our SAP-Server via Webservice.
Can I use any webservice or are there any restrictions for this?
If anybody know a website, where I can read, how to connect to a webservice with the IPAD it will help..
