Been doing computers for years, and recently my sister talked me into trying her iPad !!

I'm hooked, but haven't used an apple since the Apple II was popular. What an eye-opener!!

Typing this on my windows 7 laptop, and at my other elbow is my iPad 2 (good thing I got the biggest gig one) - looks like this will be a permanent setup now. ;)

Originally, all I wanted was to be able to text message my grandkids, since I am no longer able to see the buttons on my phone to use it to text.

Glad this forum exists, and is so informative.

Hi Granny - welcome to the forum! :)

I've been a PC guy for years but my first computer in 1980 was an Apple II+ - now have an older iPod and a new upgraded iPad2 - both complement my other computers but a nice addition - enjoying also!

And indeed this is a great site w/ plenty of experienced members & a LOT of information already available - looking forward to your posts!

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.
