Doodle Jump is one of the biggest-selling iPhone games of all time, earning Lima Sky the accolade of being the first indie developer to exceed 3 million paid downloads on the iTunes App Store. Touch Arcade called it “possibly the best iPhone game ever created,†and it reached the #1 Top Paid App spot in the US, UK, Germany, Australia and many other countries. It has sold over 1.6 million units in 2010 alone, and Apple even shortlisted it as one of their “Best Games of 2009â€. So, the big question on Doodle Jump fans' lips is, when can they get their hands on the iPad version?
Well, Business Insider recently had a chance to talk with the game’s developer, Igor Pusenjak, who told them that Lima Sky is currently working on the iPad version of the game, and that it will be “specially created for the iPad rather than simply rescaled.â€
Pusenjak explains that the reason that iPad Doodle Jump is taking so long to hit the iPad App Store is because Lima Sky is pretty much rebuilding the game from scratch.
When Business Insider pressed Pusenjak for a release date, he couldn’t even pinpoint a month, let alone a day!
