Where is the plus sign in Safari? IOS4.2

Every vid and article on Safari mentions a plus sign next to the address bar. Well, I don't see one.

How do I put a web clip on my home screen?

Mailink to this page & Print. ? My friend has exactly same iPad with exact same webpages open but he has the ADD TO HOMESCREEN option,I've tried resetting & had to restore my iPad but still no option ? Can you help ? Thanku

Are you sure you are using the new version of the OS. It should be version 4.2. You can check this in the settings menu under general and then pick "about".

is your screen full? I had this option in the 3.2.2 and in the 4.2
