The iPad cannot open/run an .exe file. That is a program file that works on computers. To use a program on the iPad, you have to get them at Apple's AppStore. There, the programs are called applications (or apps for short).

As a general rule - the only place to get apps/programs is from the AppStore. Nothing else works on the iPad (such as .exe).

Hope this clarifies.

The iPad is app driven not file driven that is why you can't access .exe files.

Has nothing to do with it. exe is the file extension for Windows applications/software. Applications are meant to be run, not viewed. You can't run a Windows app on the iPad. Most other file types can be viewed on an iPad, if you use the right app.

App centric means files are associated with a specific app. You have to open the app first to see the file; unlike the more file centric world of desktop computers where you more often click on files first, and then the default app for that file type opens it.
