Just thinking about upgrading my phone to 3G after all the helpful advice here about tethering.
Now, I am thinking, will the connection be considerably faster on the tethered link than my landline? The reason being that we are a long way from the old type exchange and speed is not much better than dial up. For example it takes 35 hours to download one hour of TV from the BBC Iplayer. In the town they watch it streaming! So with the mobile not using the exchange I should see a vast difference - or not?
