Wifi on ipad2 weak reception

Is there a fix or tweak for the ipad2 to improve wifi detection/connection? I have all manner of wifi devices and I work in an area where our wifi router is across the street for where I work. All my other wifi devices, laptop, iPhone etc... All pick up the wifi signal from across the street. I cant say the same for my ipad2. There are more times that it will not detect any signal at all... help anyone?

Buy a Wi fi range extender..... Edimax do go ones.

Actually I was wondering about the wifi receiver of the iPad itself.. it seems to be weak compared to iPhones or other wifi devices... So the question is not about improving the range of the source wifi signal but rather a tweak or fix for the poor reception of my iPad device
