with Thursday the 23rd being Thanksgiving in the USA I thought I would get a early start and wish everyone on the forums a happy Thanksgiving.

My mother used to make pumpkin pie from scratch. She also roasted the pumpkin seeds.Hi Thomas - hope that you and all on the forum (who celebrate the holiday) have a nice Thanksgiving - this year, Susan & I will be sharing a nice roasted pheasant, just enough for two and amazing the meat is quite similar to a turkey - she'll probably do some mash potatoes & a veggie of some type - believe that she bought a pumpkin pie. In my younger years back in Michigan, my maternal grandmother made pumpkin pie from 'scratch', i.e. clean out a real pumpkin and crust w/ the basics - I actually helped her several times which made the pies even more delicious - miss those bygone days.
