I would suggest that you try Diabetes Buddy Lite for free. It will give you a basis to evaluate whether to spend money on the full version.
Diabetes Buddy which is $ 4.99 and this is the best one in the app store.
I had hoped for a free one but sometime buying something in the app store is truly worth it and this is one of them, especially when it comes to serious health issues like diabetes.

I was just checking the American Diabetes Association and they have listed several apps that can help to control Diabetes.
Some of these apps come in either a free version and/or paid version. I believe the most expensive one is Glucose Buddy ($6.99).
So have a look at some of these recommendations to monitor you glucose level and diet/carb counting.
Glucose Buddy (free or $6.99)
Wish I'd seen this sooner, because I can tell you from personal experience that glucose buddy is not that great an app on the iPad. It works great on the iPhone and iPod touch though
Also, it is insanely expensive to enable all the features, especially if you want to enable two-way syncing between the website and your device(s).
