Help with photo

Just lately whenever I try to use a photo-either stock or my own-as wallpaper for my iPad Mini 4, the photo displays with a January date and random time...like this. Can anyone help? Thanks!

This is just meant to show what it will look like on your iPad. As soon as you‘ve set it up, you’ll see the right time and date on your lock screen.

Thanks for your reply. I wish this were true. When I set it up on my screen, the correct time/date are superimposed on the incorrect date. ( I tried to upload a screenshot, but the file is too large.)

Usually, when you set up an image as wallpaper, you open it, then select the Share button,

got to “Use as Wallpaper”

tap “Set”

and decide whether or not to use it on lock or home screen or both. The lock screen is supposed to show the correct time and date without incorrect date.

Is it possible that you’re trying to set up a screenshot from that third step as wallpaper? What does the image look like before you tap the Share button? Are time and date already included?

If so, the result could look like this:

Thanks for your reply. It doesn't seem to matter if I use a photo I've saved from Facebook, a screenshot, or one of my own photos. When I select the photo, it's fine. When imchoose "use as wallpaper" the image presents with a January date. (Tried to post image; got message file is too large)

The image in your first post shows what you’re describing. It’s the same date that my iPad shows when I think of using an image as wallpaper. That means you’re not using it as wallpaper yet. You’ll have to tap “Set” at the bottom right.

The wrong time and date will disappear as soon as you’ve set it up, and will be replaced by the right information.
