9to5 Mac reports today that Applebitch blog has heard from sources that many Apple retail stores will be opening one hour early tomorrow (at 9AM local time), and that they will be getting more iPad 2 stock in via new shipments. This is by no means officially confirmed though, so your best bet to save a wasted trip is to call your local store and see what they have to say. 9to5 Mac also reports that although official figures have yet to be released by Apple for the iPad 2’s first weekend of sales, one Apple spokesperson has reportedly said that demand was “amazingâ€, and several analysts have given their sales estimates, which range from 500,000 to more than 1 million iPad 2s sold over the past weekend. If either of those figures are anything like close to the truth, it would mean that the iPad 2 has easily surpassed the first iPad’s opening weekend sales figures of 300,000.
