a lot of apple ipad haters out there ..

on a couple other forums i belong to ..it seams to be a lot people who just hate the liveing heck of the apple.ipad . the only thing one person said about apple and the ipad was it nice and chucky for it size ..


when i said i bought a ipad for use in mydaily life ..the people said i should have taken my money and throw it from a moveing car ..

so on any other forums you belong to do ever see people reacting to the ipad unit with that much hate about the unit and about apple products in general ..

There are alot of Apple haters, and some for good reason. Other reasons, not so much. But in the end, people are entitled to their opinions. I personally did not like the iPad when I first heard of it. But once I got it in my hands, my opinion changed. Plus I love getting new toys

We're used to salesmen argumenting us to buy x or z product, but when it comes to Apple products we get more "Don't buy that!" from some forums bottom dwellers. Some make it a crusade to get you not to buy it!

It many cases it amounts to ignorance. I'm sure there are people that have had bad luck with apple products, just like HP is my sworn enemy. In the end I think most of it is stupidity. Yestreday at the Apple store one clerk was showing the iPad to a prospect and all she could do is talk about how she thought the apple products could not do certain things. I took my iPad to my PT appointment and showed it off, they couldn't believe what it could do. Look at the Iphone, there are lots of "I'm a PC" using an iPhone.

Everyone of them has had emotional issues which have been amplified by the abuse of drugs over time. They are easily manipulated by those who advocate that all software should be free which is another group with mental problems.

A few are untrainable over the hill sloths who are wedded to making a little paycheck using Adobe Flash.

Iin the end they appear to have a religious fervor in their Islamic type hatred toward Apple, closed safe software platforms and HTML5, so they end up terrorizing forums with their drivel.


I personally advocate joining any moderated web site that bans such people completely or prevents their spamming the iPad forums. The 'Apple hate crowd' make the ability to get good information more difficult with all their useless noise which fans their egos.

They have one over riding tactic which has been used since the story of the Garden of Eden which introduced the idea man was missing out on something, they should have freedom of choice, they introduce FUD.

F - Fear
U - Uncertainty
D - Doubt

FUD among teenage children.
A teen age boy with emotional problems is swayed by Fear girls will not like him.
A teen age boy is Uncertain he can be man while romancing a girl.
A teen age boy Doubts he has a big enough Wang and girls will laugh at him.

This kid is ripe for drugs which amplify his emotions even more with big swings.
That is insight into why Verizon targeted their Droid ads at this group to introduce Android to their network. Those ads tapped into a strong sub conscious emotion that appealed to some in the under thirty crowd.

But that is a whole new subject called subliminal advertising.

I agree with what you say ,

I am amazed how personal they make it. I have been selling Apple products and providing support and training since (1981 in USA until 1988 ) and (Australia 1988 through to now) and I have seen a lot of opinions over the years about Apple many good and some bad. Every one has their right to have their opinion

In most cases they just hate either Apple or their products and as you said "People get way too defensive on something that has nothing to do with them". No one asks them to buy they just like letting off rage or play follow the leader trolling from forum to forum looking for some one they can upset. Also Apple controls 70% of the digital market ie ipods etc and a lot of people hate that.

I suggest when you come across forums like that just leave its not worth discussion I also agree with takenoverwhom commented that at first he did not like it but once he tried the ipad it he was sold on it.

Most of the people that have complained have never seen the ipad let alone tried it and even more so..... many live in a small box and refuse to accept new technology what ever it is.....
Oh one more thing.. to quote Steve Jobs haha.. In our house we own Iphones and ipod touches and a Macbook plus Apple tv . The ipad will make life easier as I need something that is bigger than the iphone but easier to carry around than a Macbook. I do not need multitasking and I do not really care less about flash, however I am pleased that Apple is providing many more new features in next upgrade. I can't wait to get mine here in Australia I will just have to wait for another 3 weeks or so....... oh well

So enjoy the ipad it will only get better when Apple release 4.0

wow, you guys have really thought this out, maybe a little too much.

I like Hank's first comment, he simply stopped going to the forum. I don't have a problem leaving someplace I don't feel welcome. I love my IPad, and if someone else does not, I don't feel I need to defend it, or think they are a lesser person, they just have an an opinion that differs from mine.

Not surprising, we are not clones. conversations tend to be a lot less interesting talking to someone who agrees with everything you say.

Forums are supposed to be a platform for people to air their views democratically so you will get people in favour and those who are against. I have used my friend's ipad for the last couple of days and though it looks good, after a while I thought I would rather be on my desktop with a proper computer keyboard and a big monitor for the visuals.

Advantages of the iPad

1) Flexibility. You can use it anywhere because of its design.
2) Excellent device for reading books, possibly better than Amazon's Kindle.
3) I can imagine slate computers such as the iPad being widely used in certain industries such as hospitals by doctors and nursing staff with the devices connected to the hospital's network becaus ethey are often on their feet, but I don't think its a great device for being used in the home for office productivity.

Disadvantages

1) It just feels like a bigger iPod touch
2) There are way too many limitations compared to a normal desktop/laptop computer.
3) Slate computers are not really for using long time in one stretch. The hands become tired (I excerise quite regularly and not really unfit and do not suffer from RSI). You don't see people playing with their smartphones for too long.
4) Good for reading emails and ocassional surfing but wouldn't say its great for viewing videos for too long. If you have a 22 inch monitor, you would rather watch a movie or a sport on a bigger screen.
5) As for gaming, nothing beats a games console with a game pad device to play with. If you wnat the best ganming experience, you are better off with an Xbox, a Playstation or a Nintendo.

Thats what I did. I left the forum. I have a Kindle. I LOVE my Kindle. But on a Kindle forum I simply stated that I was excited because my bf decided to order me and IPAD for Easter - you would think I just stated that I was going to blow up a building! The hatred came out. I was called names, I was called a troll, I was called unintelligent, it was rude. I said my peace and left the forum. It was sad to leave because I am disabled and don't leave home much. The forums was kind of a social outlet for me to talk to others who like to read and have many of the same interests as me. ButI found a new Kindle forum and they are gracious and not as closed minded. I did not go to the other site stating that IPAD is better than Kindle. They are not even the same . Its comparing apples and oranges. I just simply wanted to share my good news. Ah well...they are gone and I no longer have to deal with closed minded people who don't understand that the IPAD is NOT an E-READER. It is a tablet computer that runs and e-reader app just like the thousands of other apps it can run. Simple ignorance.

I know what you mean. I think for many people electronic devices take the place of religion in their lives, at least they act like it. I really don't care what brand a device is, I just want it to "fit" me. If it does and it's a Sony or Microsoft or Apple or Gateway.... Then I use it.

I really like my iPad, but in 3 years, who knows what will be out there...... When I got my iPad, I sold my Sony reader. There are people out there that just can't handle the fact that for me the iPad is a better reader than the Sony....
