Adding date to iPad 2 Menu Bar

Has anyone discovered a way to add the Date to the Time on the iPad 2 Menu Bar?

Nope. But put the Callander app on your front page near the top - this always displays today's date on the icon even without opening or accessing it.

I need to clarify that I am looking for something similar to date, etc in OS Lion, eg

"Sun, Jan 1, 2.24 pm"

There is no way to put the date in the status bar of a stock iPad.
