Antivirus software

Hi folks
I have just joined the forum after purchasing an iPad couple of days ago. So I apologise if this is a question often asked. Do I require antivirus software for the iPad? I checked with macafee who provide software for my pc - they don't do.

No, you don't need anti-virus software for the iPad. As of today, there is no virus in the wild that affects the iPad.

However, you still need to practice "safe surfing": be on secure sites when passing on sensitive information, be alert to phishing e-mails, be cautious about going to secure sites on public WiFi, etc.
