Anyone else so disappointed they want to cry?

Not sure. Depends on culture and the individual kids' personalities maybe. My nuclear family was more Eastern than Western, and we grew up not expecting Christmas gifts. Children's birthdays weren't even celebrated, because age was revered. What I remember liking best about Chinese New Year's was eating lots of candy and food, lol. I remember going to take care of ancestors' grave sites as an act of respect on one holiday and liking that because my extended family would gather and eat after. Even decades later, I feel very connected to my extended family, because what was celebrated at holidays was getting together.

Sounds like some of us have some things to learn.

LOL it just STUNS me how ridiculous it sounds.. it's and Ipad not life or death.. Im old enough to remember a time before all of this and a few years ago this was just sci fi.. now people are whining because it doesnt come with a washer/dryer, wine cooler and cabana boy.. give me a break :)

I remember when in college my first answering machine was a HUGE deal, and having to rewind the cassette when it was full. I don't mean to sound like a fossil but the post title made me just roll my eyes.

Here's the first iPad. As seen in 2001: A Space Odyssey. 1968. The stuff of dreams, and we have it for real.
