App to watch tv shows??

Hulu Plus, if you don't mind paying about $8 a month. The gap between what is available on the iPad and website is shrinking, but their (somewhat limited) Bravo content is still only available via the website. It's a licensing issue.
Crunchyroll if you like anime. It has tiered plans with a free basic plan. Almost nothing is dubbed though.
Netflix, again you'll pay about $8 for streaming access, or you did. They just changed their pricing plans and I'm not sure if that is still true.
ABC for a limited selection of recent shows, but it is free.
PBS for the same.
And if you want to expand your mind try TED or TED+SUB for a variety of interesting talks.
There are plenty more, but these are the ones I have, except for Netflix.
