:) I am a retired electronic engineer who starting using PC's when they were first introduced by IBM. Before that I used main frames and technical specialized computers like the HP 2100s. They had to be programmed in assembly language of Fortran.

Last year I bought a 32 GB iPod Touch 4 which I use daily and really enjoy using.
I recently bought a 32 GB iPad 2 for my wife who is an invalid and computer illiterate. I have grown to love the iPad2. She answers email and replies to it. I really like the simple user interaction and the great apps. My next computer may be a Mac laptop.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

Ah...Fortran - don't get me started!!! The good old days...

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

Welcome from Mississippi!

You'll find lots of nice people here that can answer most any question you have.

In the meantime, check out the iPad manual, and the forum rules.

Welcome from another Alabamian, IAMDRD! You found the best place for just about anything you want to know about the iPad - or you might could tell us something you know. Don't have a Touch, but have the iPhone4 which is very similar. Hope you enjoy your new iPad, good luck on the sharing!

The Touch is great because it fits in your pocket. I bought Plantronics wireless Bluetooth earphones which work well. I use them to listen to podcasts and audiobooks.
