Apple Digital AV Adapter

Got one of the Apple Digital AV Adapter tried it on my TV tonight and it will not show up on it
The make of my tv is an LG with 2x hdmi sockets on it
Any help with this do I need to do any thinks with setting etc ?

Did you set TV input to the correct HDMI imput channel?

double click the home button, at the bottom of the screen all the apps that are open show, slide your finger to the right and it will show controls for music and also a control for airplay, or mirror out, you need to set this to mirror out.
