Apple has announced to employees in a recent memo that it is expanding workers' benefits, including longer parental leave, an expanded donation matching program, subsidized student loan refinancing, and education reimbursement for all classes.

Denise Young Smith. Apple's HR chief, recently spoke to the Fortune publication, saying that Apple's corporate matching program will be expanded to include all of Apple's employees in all countries. She said the following:

I don’t think these [benefits] would be immediately thought of. But for the first time we’ve probably got four generations in the workplace at the same time, and we need a plethora of programs.

Apple will also pay its employees for the time spent on philanthropic endeavors up to $25 per hour of non-profit work, with a maximum of $10,000 per employee.

With the new parental leave policy, expectant mothers can take off up to four weeks before delivery and 14 weeks after. Also, expectant fathers and other non-birth parents can take a six-week leave.

Young Smith is trying to woo employees with Apple’s “wellness center”, as well, which is a medical one-stop-shop located in a striking new building at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters. She says 43,000 employees have already visited the center, and seven doctors plus a large team of chiropractors, physical therapists and dietitians are working there.
