It seems that this year Apple has decided to start its traditional Back to School campaign a little late than it usually does. There were already hints the company was working on a comparable offering to the yearly promotion, and the late launch of the promotion could mean that's still possible.
This year's Back to School promotion brings a free pair of Beats Solo2 On-Ear headphones to qualifying students, parents of students and educators that purchase an eligible Mac - the iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and the Mac Pro. The Mac mini and refurbished Macs are excluded from the deal.
What's not so great is that iPhones and iPads are also absent from this year's promotion, which is going to be a big letdown for many. Back in 2014 and 2013, Apple's Back to School promotion offered up to a $100 Apple Store gift card with the purchase of a qualifying Mac, iPhone or iPad but the company seems to have changed its mind now.
Furthermore, Apple is no longer offering free Apple Store or iTunes gift cards which could be seen as further proof that the company is either looking to stop this program for the future or it has some better plans.
Apple's Back to School promotion runs until September 18, 2015 at Apple Retail Stores, and between August 6, 2015 and September 18, 2015 on the Apple Online Store, in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Germany. The promotion hasn't yet been announced in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Denmark or other important European as well as Asian markets.
