Apple Store disappeared from jailbroken iPad 1

I jailbroke my iPad 1 OS 5.1.1 a while ago and then configured as per my requirement. I had Apple Store until today when I shut down the iPad because it became unresponsive and then started.

Before shutting down, when I tried to launch Apple Store, it had no Apps section and redirected me to EULA but could not see anywhere button to agree terms and conditions. So I restarted and then the icon was gone.

Any idea what the heck happened and how do I get it back?

Did you take a look in your Settings app (General > Restrictions) and make sure a restriction for installing or deleting apps was not turned on? That may have made your AppStore icon disappear.

Or - sorry if this sounds annoying - did you make a thorough search for it on the iPad? Sometimes, after my iPad "misbehaves," I find apps in places I never would have expected them to be.

Or, could you have hidden the app with something like Poof, SBSettings or Springtomize2? You'll have to look in those tweaks (if you have them) to see if that's what happened.

Finally, sometimes I've noticed that a restart or another reset of the iPad will put things back to rights. Yeah, sounds weird, but the iPad is a computer that does glitch. Sometimes, shtuff happens!

Hopefully, one or some of the above will help.

I do not have installing or deleting app restriction on

I checked 'other places' but do not find the store

I do not have the kind of apps you mentioned to hide anything.

I restarted iPad, story is still the same.


I do not want to reset it. I am afraid that I will mess it up.

I got few apps from app store but iPad is not installing them. Just says waiting as if they are in queue but no progress.

Update - I am unable to install the apps through iFunbox (these are the apps, I just got from the App store).

Sounds like something has gone wrong. Since you have an iPad1 and 5.1.1 is the last version of IOS for that device, you are perfectly safe preforming a restore and re-jailbreak. You cannot lose your jailbreak capabilities on the iPad1. Just make sure you back up any data or information you need before you do it.

Update - Got the store back (Don't know how).

But the apps won't download and install.. (managed to download on my PC).

Did you install any particular tweaks prior to attempting to open up the AppStore.app?
