Apple tv with 5.1 surround sound

Is AC3 5.1 Surround Sound supported for Apple TV format? I would like to convert my videos to Apple TV format, but I want to get the full AC3 5.1 surround sound. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance.

Yes it's supported by using a converting program called Handbrake. Handbrake is free.
