To say that the Apple iPad has been a success would be a huge understatement. Apple has not only made a hot selling product but they created an entire market that didn't exist before. Now we see tablets from a ton of other manufacturers coming out - and Apple created this whole entire category. It seems that the sales rate of the iPad has exceeded even Apple's wildest expectations... so they are trying to pump out even more units for the holiday season and next year. That's according to analyst Mike Abramsky at RBC Capital. He claims that they have increased Q4 manufacturing orders to 40 million units. Apple also plans to build 40 million more in 2011.
The only sour note, if you call it that, is that they've decreased the amount of units of the Verizon iPhone to 20 million units (from 30 million) - however, if they are able to sell even 20 million units this will represent a huge sales push on a network that they have no representation on right now.
Shameless plug: We run a large Apple iPhone 4 forum and even have a Verizon iPhone section created there. Please hop on over and join us: iPhone 4 Forum
