Apps to help builders

Hi everybody!

Another new member here and new to iPads.

I have owned a mac computer for around 20yrs now and currently use a 13inch MacBook. I have also had an iPhone since they have been available in this country and now have a 5.

I have wanted an ipad since they first became available, but have not been able to find the spare cash, as I am a builder and the last few years have been totally poo! Financially.

I am not much of a game player, I love surfing the net in my spare time and trying to learn how to use all these electronic goodies to my advantage.

As a very badly organised builder, I am always looking for ideas of how to keep records of my labour force and additional work on various jobs. Since owning my ipad (which my darling wife bought me for valentines day) I have been taking it to work each day to use for record keeping rather than a note pad. I would be very interested in any tips, app recommendations etc anybody can offer.

I look forward to any help offered and spending my evenings reading all your posts.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

Have a look at Evernote .....a great notepad which syncs between your devices and mbp. Splashtop, if you need to connect with your mbp when out and about.
Dropbox is also great for transferring files from your mbp to iPad. These are just a few, I'm sure others will recommend some too. Enjoy!

Once again we welcome you here and are so pleased you have joined us!

Nice to see people sharing a lot of things from their own Ipad. But I wanted to know if anyone is from Australia. I have just bought my Ipad but not knowing if there is a following here as much as somewhere else.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I've just welcomed you on another of your posts, but I'm from Australia, from Brisbane in fact. We have many members from Australia here too and even have a dedicated Forum just for all of us, check it out.

Oh yes indeed Beatrice and welcome to the forum from a fellow Aussie. I'm from Adelaide myself . We have a number of sub-forums here which you may enjoy, including regional forums of which, needless to say, the Australian sub-forum heads the list .as leelai above has indicated.
Enjoy your membership here, make posts yourself if you like and, should you have any queries (to use a good Oz term) ask away. There are many knowledgeable people here willing to help.
Glad you joined us!
Andrew
