Do apps sitting on home page take any battery juice or only when there opened.Is 3 pages of apps unusual because that's what I have. Also can you leave the charger pluged in when not in use.

Closed apps that are not running in the background do not have any battery drain. Any number of home pages up to the maximum of 11 pages is perfectly usual and normal. Leaving the charger plugged in indefinitely will not harm the battery.
