Are there apps that work on iPad 2 but not on original iPad?

I've been planning on picking up an iPad 2 for quite some time now, but with a refurbished 64GB first-gen iPad WiFi being $399 from Apple, I don't know what to do anymore. Originally, I was going to spend $450 on a refurbished 16GB iPad 2, but if I can get 64GB for $50 less and only have to deal with a slightly slower processor and less RAM, that makes a lot more sense.

Spec comparison here: Spec Spat: Apple iPad vs. iPad 2 - Techland - TIME.comHow would not having the "3-axis gyro" and having less MHz/RAM limit my use of apps? I'm mainly interested in music production, i.e. nanostudio, GarageBand, Rhythm, iElectribe, Easybeats, etc.

I've seen the YouTube videos that show them side by side, and there is a .5 second delay in many things, but I can live with that if it means more storage and spending less money. And the camera doesn't matter to me - I have an iPhone 4S for that.

How about gaming? Is the iPad going to stutter on or outright not play any games?

I just don't want to spend $400+ on a piece of technology that was wonderful last year but won't function well with the software out there now.

I have the iPad 1 as well and it can keep up with the iPad 2 just fine. I recently tried Modern Warfare 3:Fallen Nation on both and the iPad 2 is slightly faster and has enhanced effects like lighting and shadows that make it appear a little better. Personally, I don't think the different is substantial enough to make me run out to get the iPad 2. The iPad 1 still has plenty of life left in it before software becomes more advanced than its hardware.
