Auto Lock stops the music?!

Up until yesterday when playing music, using a playlist longer than the Auto Lock time.. the screen would got dark when Auto Lock tripped.

But now.. Arrgghh.. the screen goes dark and the music stops !? WTH.

Anyone have an idea or experience similar problem?

Note: While it may not be connected, this happened right after the last update to iTunes on my laptop and doing a SYNC...

Little help, - Nicodemus

Hi Nicodemus - welcome to the forum! :)

Please try the maneuvers below - often will correct quirky software and hardware issues - good luck!

When an app (or several) are misbehaving, I usually go through the following steps:

1. Force Close - open the multi-tasking bar (double tap the 'home buttom' or use multi-gesturing and swipe up); press & hold an app until all begin to 'jiggle'; find the offending app(s) and press the 'red circle w/ minus sign' - return to the home screen & try again.

2. Restart - press & hold the 'Sleep/Awake' (a.k.a. power) button until a red slider appears (may take a few seconds) - move the slider to turn off the iPad; then press & hold the same button until the Apple logo appears - wait for a restart.

3. Reset - press & hold the 'Power' and 'Home' buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears - this may take a longer time, so have patience; the iPad will 're-boot' - NOTE that none of these maneuvers will alter your apps, files, or settings.

FWIW, the 'force close' option has apparently resolved my problem.. surprisingly. I will keep an eye on it for awhile yet to be fully certain... Thank you for you help.

Best regards, - Nicodemus

GREAT! I suspect that you will be fine to go - if the problem recurs, then please post back - :)

Is anyone else having this problem since 8.3 OS was released? I know it's not my iPad because I just got a replacement for my iPad mini and also bought a new iPad mini 3 so that's two iPads that when I plug in my iTunes randomly starts playing and the app isn't even open!! I have to actually open the app (where I see either my own playlist purchased music OR the iTunes radio playing) in order to close it to get it to stop!! I even turned off the bluetooth option in Settings but shouldn't have to do that because I use a phone app on my iPad and then I will miss my call while driving. It shouldn't start phantom playing period!! I called Apple iTunes tech support and they had no idea and never heard of this happening but my guess is they are going to hear it more because as I said on a 3 yr old iPad mini AND a brand new iPad 3, both with 8.3 installed is when it started happening. I imagine they won't listen to the end user so perhaps you folks can get this across to them to figure out what's going on. Anyone else having this issue on this version? Thanks! ;) Jeannie

By a replacement for the original iPad mini I mean a brand new iPad mini. I haven't set that one up as since I bought the iPad 3 I am going to sell the replacement..just wanted to be clear that it was the original that was also doing this.
