I need the capability to completely shut off the backlight under program control. I am currently using ScreenDimmer and it does exactly what it is advertised to do. I need something a little different. My iPads are wall mounted for home automation control. The app I am using allows control of the screen brightness. What I am looking for is a tweak that will turn off the backlight if the brightness is set to zero (0) and turn it back on when the brightness is set to greater than zero.
This would seem to be a reasonable addition to screendimmer but my attempts to contact the author of screendimmer have met with no success.
Any help or advice appreciated.
