Bad Elf GPS for road use

Is it possible to use the Bad Elf GPS units for the iPad with road maps and offer directional talking road navigation, with a standard none 3G iPad2?? - (made as far as I can see for aviation navigation)

You could use it with the NavFree app, which downloads the maps and stores them in the iPad.
