Hello everyone,
I am new to all this new tech stuff. I just bought the Ipad2 and I'm trying to find an app that will help me keep track of my phone messages I get on my home answering machine. Right now I write them down on a "Voice Mail Record" sheet in my dayplanner. I need to record my messages because they are for my business and I need to follow up on them. It helps to have them written down, so I can refer back to them sometimes. Any suggestions.

Welcome! I would have thought the built in "Reminder" application would be ideal. You can even create your own separate reminder list for phone messages if that suits. Have a play around with it and see how you get on...

Note - the Reminder app is part of IOS 5. You should probably upgrade to that using iTunes if you do not already have it on your new iPad2.

Evernote.

You can hold the iPad next to the answering machine and record an audio note, then add a text description. Evernote lets you create notebooks and has a fairly sophisticated search engine. It will also sync with apps on pretty much every device and/or computer; or you can use the website.

Because you can edit the note in rich text, you can even add a checkmark item to the note to keep track of whether you've taken care of an action. On, and on, and on. I like Evernote, even though I use about a 10th of it's features.

The basic account is free.

And just to add one more suggestion, SmartPad, it has hyper notes (I think they are called that anyway!) which can be linked and with its calendar and todo functions its one serious bit of kit.
